Chinese Thorowax Root, also called bupleuri chinensis radix, is the root or whole grass of the Umbelliferae plant Bupleurum chinense or Bupleurum scorzonerifolium. Chinese Thorowax Root is grown in dry grasslands, sunny hillsides and shrub forest edges, mainly distributed in Northeast China, North China and Shaanxi, Gansu, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangxi and etc..
