Swordlike atractylodes rhizome is a plant of the Asteraceae Atractylodes family. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Hunan, Jilin, Henan, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Gansu, Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Shaanxi, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei and other places in China. Mostly it grows in areas such as thickets, forests, wild hillside grasslands or rock crevices of which altitude is between 50 meters and 1,900 meters.
