Spine date seed is the dried and mature seeds of Ziziphus jujuba Mill.var.spinosa (Bunge) Hu ex H.F.Chou, which are mainly produced in Hebei, Shanxi, and Shaanxi in China. The mature fruits are harvested in late autumn and early winter, and then remive the pulp and Nutshell, and collect the seeds and sun-dried.
