Schisandra Description

Schisandra chinensis, a traditional Chinese medicine, is the mature fruit of Northen Schisandra chinensis and Southen Schisandra chinensis, a perennial deciduous woody vine in the Magnoliaceae family. Northen Schisandra is a genuine product that is traditionally used which is mainly produced in Northeast, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi and other places. South Schisandra is mostly produced in the southwest and south of the Yangtze River Basin.Man harvest it when the fruit is ripe in autumn, remove the fruit branches, and dry it in the sun. It can be used raw or mixed with vinegar and honey, steamed and dried.
