Spirulina is an ancient lower prokaryotic unicellular or multicellular aquatic plant, shaped like a clockwork, with a spiral blue-green color. The algae can vibrate and rotate. It often rotates rapidly as if It is around a longitudinal axis crawling forward.
Harvesting and storage: Harvesting and drying are the key technologies for the industrial production of spirulina. The algal liquid with low dry matter content is filtered and washed, and the finished spirulina powder is obtained by gradually dehydrating and drying on the basis of no loss of effective nutrients. The filtration equipment of spirulina liquid generally adopts the inclined sieve and gravity curved sieve, the dehydration equipment adopts the three-legged centrifuge or vacuum suction filter, and the drying equipment often includes a special spray dryer and spin flash dryer.
Spirulina is mainly distributed in freshwater and saline-alkali lakes in tropical and subtropical regions, such as Chenghai Lake in Yongsheng, Yunnan in China.
