The gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) component in evening primrose oil is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that only exists in very few plants. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is the basic substance which makes up skin cells. It will form a natural protective film, which can effectively inhibit the inflammation, skin itching and allergies and other symptoms. Like neurodermatitis, it is caused by the imbalance of skin metabolism.
This is due to the insufficient secretion of a specific enzyme, which is responsible for converting linoleic acid into gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), resulting in the phenomenon of dehydrated skin, dry skin, itchiness and pimples.
However, the production rate of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) in the skin cells is very slow, so we must rely on supplementing nutritious foods such as evening primrose extracts for a period of time to assist.
Evening primrose oil can be used with other carrier oils. The ideal carrier oil is jojoba oil, coconut oil or sweet almond oil. Then add 10ml (mildly refined) evening primrose oil to 50-100ml of vegetable oil, and then spread the oil evenly on the face, chest and neck.
Or you can puncture a capsule of evening primrose oil and apply it directly to the place where it should be applied.
When using evening primrose oil, it can be mixed and blended with any other body or face oil.
